Kurt Brown is from a rural area of Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Master of Accounting Science. Kurt brings nearly 20 years of experience in finance and accounting to the Lifestyle Homes team. He began his career in public accounting, earned his CPA designation and went on to hold several corporate management positions. As Controller for Lifestyle Homes, Kurt is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, managing payroll, the monthly close process, taxes, bank reconciliations and overseeing the company’s accounting systems and budgets. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and previously served as Vice-President of Finance for an Illinois council of the Boy Scouts of America. He currently serves both regionally and nationally with the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society. He is co-chair of the Developing Youth Leadership Conference, which takes him across the U.S. several weekends each year. When he is not working or volunteering, Kurt enjoys officiating basketball, traveling, hiking or playing poker. He is also an avid Cubs fan and attended game 7 of the 2016 World Series when the Cubs broke their streak. He’s attended MLB games in 24 different stadiums and plans to visit them all in the next few years.
